Skanska USA has been awarded an $80 million contract to construct a new Children’s Pavilion at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University. Skanska’s share of the contract is 100 percent.
The pavilion will include construction of a 640,000-square-foot building with exam rooms, a surgical area, imaging and lab services and faculty offices all dedicated to pediatrics. There also will be an attached 600-space parking garage. The project will be built behind the existing Children’s Pavilion on the VCU Medical Center campus in downtown Richmond.
Once completed, the Children’s Pavilion will bring the majority of outpatient pediatric services across the medical campus to one facility. Skanska said the project is slated for completion in August 2015.
