Main Street Architecture PC of Berryville was selected as the architectural firm for the restoration of the Boyce Town Hall. The work will
include design and rebuilding the front portico and providing access to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act. A transportation grant will
pay for much of the project. A second bid process will be undertaken to find a construction firm. (The Winchester Star)
The National Fruit Product Co. Inc., a Winchester apple processing firm, marked its 100th anniversary. Begun in Alexandria in 1908 as Board,
Armstrong and Co. to make cider vinegar, the company became National Fruit in 1913 and built a second vinegar plant in Winchester in 1915.
When a fire destroyed the Alexandria operation in 1925, the company moved to Winchester. (The Winchester Star)
