August 11, 2010 4:26 PM

McLean-based Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command (MSC), Washington, D.C., to provide data center, information technology and disaster recovery site support.

The follow-on contract has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total value of more than $49 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at MSC headquarters at the Washington Navy Yard, and in Norfolk, Va., Pensacola, Fla., and San Diego, Calif.

The MSC works with the maritime industry and U.S. federal agencies to find innovative maritime solutions to ocean transportation challenges.
