SAIC plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent

McLean-based Science Applications International Corp. plans to reduce operational greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent (from 2010 levels) by 2020.
Since 2005, SAIC has tracked greenhouse gas emissions and made changes to reduce its impact on the environment by its facilities and its business practices.
Company officials say these changes have provided a positive return on investment, a platform for the demonstrating the company’s energy and environmental solutions, and improved alignment with customers.
Under its greenhouse gas reduction program, SAIC engineers will identify and implement energy efficiency projects throughout the company. SAIC also will develop employee education programs to improve environmental and energy awareness.
