RIC traffic down for 4th consecutive month
August 26, 2008 2:05 PMThe Capital Region Airport Commission today reported a 6.8 percent decrease in total passenger traffic at Richmond International Airport in July compared with the same month last year.
It marked the fourth consecutive month in which traffic declined after 34 months of continuous increases.
Richmond’s situation still compares favorably with the national picture, where airline boardings are projected to be off as much as 13 percent this year.
“We’re not anticipating anywhere near that,“ said Jon E. Mathiasen, the airport’s president and CEO.
