Power plant proposed for Prince William
March 18, 2008 10:18 AMA New Jersey company wants to build a power plant in Prince William County.
LS Power paid $195,000 for a three-year option to build a natural gas plant on a 27-acre plot owned by the county, according to The Examiner. Prince William officials had previously explored building a power plant there.
The option will allow the company to begin the study and permitting process necessary to build the plant, which LS Power hopes to have in operation by 2012.
The $500 million project could face opposition from local conservation and environmental groups.
