Piedmont Service Group has expanded into Virginia with offices in Richmond and Chesapeake.
The Raleigh, N.C.-based business helps companies operate and maintain facilities through integrated HVAC systems that promote energy efficiency and automation.
“We have experienced a growing demand for energy efficiency and sustainability services across North Carolina, and we’re excited about bringing that expertise to Virginia,” Scott Gugenheim, Piedmont’s vice president of sales said in a statement.
Piedmont has hired about 25 employees in Virginia. The new hires boost the company’s total work force to 175 employees at seven locations across N.C., S.C. and Va. Formerly Piedmont Air Conditioning, the company has provided core HVAC services since 1971. In recent years, it expanded its focus and now is the nation’s largest distributor of Trend building management systems, which remotely monitor, control and optimize a building’s mechanical and electrical equipment, including heating and cooling, lighting, and security.
“Retrofitting an existing building with smart, integrated systems as well as providing professional, preventative maintenance can generate significant savings while extending the life of a building owner’s assets,” said Robert Swiger, general manager of Piedmont’s Richmond office.
