Peninsula Hospitality acquires two Hampton Hotels

The Rehoboth, Del.-based hospitality management firm acquired a Howard Johnson and a Quality Inn Hotel. The properties have 450 guest rooms, public facilities and are located on 14 acres close to the Hampton Coliseum and the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
David Mumford, president of The Mumford Co. in Newport News represented the court appointed receiver in the sale. Peninsula Hospitality plans cosmetic renovations for both hotels and is exploring redevelopment possibilities for other portions of the site.
