Wells Fargo Bank celebrated the conversion of former Wachovia branches in Virginia with a Tuesday parade through downtown Richmond.
Signs were changed and accounts were switched to the Wells Fargo system last weekend at nearly 300 Wachovia branches in Virginia.
Tuesday’s parade included an appearance by the Wells Fargo stagecoach, the company’s symbol and an icon of the old West.
Wells Fargo has owned Wachovia since the 2008 financial crisis. The state-by-state changeover has been taking place throughout the country since late 2009.
Maryland, the District of Columbia, South Carolina and North Carolina will follow Virginia. North Carolina will be the last state to change because Wachovia was based in Charlotte.
