Medical and surgical supplier Owens & Minor reported a 4.2 percent increase in revenues during the fourth quarter and a 60.1 percent increase in profit.
The Richmond company reported revenues of $2.04 billion, compared with $1.96 billion during the previous year. Net income reached $32.3 million during the fourth quarter, compared with $20.2 million during the fourth quarter of 2008.
For the year, the company’s revenue increased 11 percent to $8.04 billion, compared with $7.24 billion in 2008. Profit increased 12.1 percent to $104.7 million compared with $93.3 million during the some period the year before.
Company officials expect to continue to grow in 2010, with revenues increasing between 4 percent and 6 percent.
