Old Point Financial Corp. sets June 3 for groundbreaking on new headquarters
May 30, 2011 11:21 AMConstruction will begin June 3 on Old Point National Bank’s new headquarters on Queen Street in Hampton following a 10 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony. The bank spent much of last year on an archaeological excavation at the site that dated the property to the early 18th century. The $8 million, five-story, 50,000-square-foot office will consolidate 45 workers into one building in downtown Hampton and house a full-service bank branch. It’s expected to open in late 2012. Old Point Financial Corp. is the parent company of Old Point National Bank, a community bank serving Hampton Roads with 21 branch locations.
