Odin, Feldman & Pittleman has signed a long-term, 53,918-square-foot lease to relocate its offices to Reston. According to the company’s real estate adviser, Studley Inc., it’s the largest lease signed by a law firm in Fairfax County in more than three years. The company plans to move from its current building at 9302 Lee Highway in Fairfax to 1775 Wiehle Ave. in the fall of 2012.
“Our 54-attorney firm had clearly outgrown the current office infrastructure, requiring additional office and meeting space,” Douglas Ross, a principal with Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, said in a statement. Currently the firm is leasing 48,000 square feet, with 6,500 square feet of that space sublet to another tenant.
Studley, Inc. said it evaluated many building alternatives over a two-year period. In addition to obtaining a competitive rate, Studley said it negotiated a tenant improvement allowance and concession package for Odin. Julie Schuelke, Studley’s executive vice president said, “The firm will also have exceptional expansion rights in order to ensure flexibility for future growth.” The new location is about one block from the future Wiehle Avenue Metrorail station and is close to Reston Town Center. Studley’s Corporate Managing Director Wendy Feldman Block and Schuelke represented the law firm in the transaction while Jeff Roman and Mike Pepper of CB Richard Ellis represented the building’s landlord, Normandy Partners.
