The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Monday that it has set no timeline for the restart of two nuclear reactors at the North Anna Power Station in Louisa County that shut down during an earthquake on Aug. 23.
About 150 people attended a public hearing at the plant where NRC officials discussed the result of its inspection regarding the earthquake’s effect on the plant.
One of the NRC findings is that North Anna Power Station staff responded to the earthquake in a way that protected public health and safety. The agency agreed with Dominion’s staff that none of the plant’s safety systems revealed significant damage.
More details on the hearing will be posted later today.
