Northern Virginia NAIOP names winners for 2011

The sale of the WEST*GROUP portfolio at Tysons Corner was among the best deals, buildings and interiors in 2011 recognized during an annual awards banquet by the Northern Virginia chapter of NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association). More than 600 people attended the recent gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, where NAIOP presented 22 awards.
Some of the major categories:
Best Real Estate Transaction — Award of Excellence for Sale: WEST*GROUP Portfolio to DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners submitted by Cityline Partners LLC. Team members included WEST*GROUP and DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners.
Best Real Estate Transaction — Lease: Award of Excellence for Reston Station submitted by Comstock Partners LC. Team members included Fairfax County, Jones Lang LaSalle, KLNB, Davis, Carter, Scott Ltd., Hickok Cole Architects, Murphy/Jahn, and James G. Davis Construction Corp.
Best Interiors — Tenant Space 50,000 square feet and above: Award of Excellence for GeoEye, Inc. submitted by DBI Architects, Inc. Team members included GeoEye, Inc., CRESA Partners Project Management and rand* construction corporation.
Best Building Renovation Adaptive Re-Use — Award of Excellence for Transurban HOT Lanes Operation Center submitted by Kishimoto.Gordon.Dalaya PC. Team members included Capital Beltway Express and Coakley & Williams Construction, Inc.
Best Mixed-Use Project — Award of Merit for Clarendon Center – North & South submitted by Cassidy Turley. Team members included Saul Centers, Inc., Torti Gallas and Partners Inc., and Clark Residential.
Best Building, 4 Stories and Above — Award of Excellence for 900 North Glebe Road submitted by Cooper Carry. Team members included The JBG Companies, Virginia Tech Research Institute LLC, Jones Lang LaSalle, and Clark Construction Group, LLC.
