Norfolk Southern hosts Web site to promote rail corridor improvements
- September 30, 2009
Railroad company Norfolk Southern has launched a Web site to promote improvements on its 2,500-mile Crescent Corridor.
The Web site, TheFutureNeedsUs.com, highlights the environmental and congestion-reducing benefits of Norfolk Southern’s improvements along its corridor that runs between New Jersey and Louisiana.
The site also highlights other projects, including the Heartland Corridor — which will cut a day off the timed needed for double-stacked trains to travel between Hampton Roads and the Midwest.
The company says that improving freight corridors will reduce congestion, create green jobs and reduce pollution.
Norfolk Southern also highlights its success using public-private partnerships to improve rail capacity.
