New Huguenot Memorial Bridge to open to traffic
June 25, 2012 12:36 PM

The first half of the new $54.5 million Huguenot Memorial Bridge in Richmond will open on June 30.

The second half of the bridge is projected to open next summer, with the bridge expected to be fully complete the following October.

The new bridge, wider and more biker and pedestrian friendly than the current 62-year-old bridge, will have a 12-foot travel lane, a 10-foot shoulder doubling as an emergency breakdown lane and cyclist path and a five-foot wide pedestrian sidewalk.
