The redevelopment of Washington D.C.‘s southwest waterfront will include a new, four-star hotel, according to The Washington Post. The newspaper says that Carr Hospitality and InterContinental Hotels Group plan to build a 268-room hotel on a site near the intersection of 9th and Water steets, SW. Carr is reportedly in final negotiations to buy the site from PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette. These companies and the district government are working together on a $1.5 billion redevelpment of the area into a mixed-use neighborhood called The Wharf. Work on the project is scheduled to begin in late
2012.
