A local businessman and hiker is opening GreenLife Adventure Sports on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 717 W. 21st Street in Norfolk’s Ghent area.
The new outdoor outfitter is the brainchild of Tommy Dunn, an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker who worked in commercial real estate before he decided to open a store. It will offer brand name outdoor apparel, footwear and gear for men and women.
In addition to apparel, the store also will offer instructional classes and rentals, a lecture/film series and environmental projects in conjunction with local and national non-profits. “We want to use outdoor retail as a platform to encourage fitness, environmental stewardship and social awareness,” Dunn said in a statement.
