The green lifestyle is coming to apartments in Newport News with the opening of a $48 million project this spring at Jefferson Marketplace.
Radius Urban Apartments will offer electric car-charging stations, energy-efficient windows and plumbing, and amenities such as free interior bike storage and a year-round saltwater pool, according to Drucker & Falk, the real estate firm that is leasing and managing the project.
The 300-unit project represents the second phase of development at Jefferson Marketplace, a mixed-use center at the intersection of Jefferson and Bland Avenues. Several restaurants and retailers are already located at the center, including Five Guys, Firehouse Subs, Jason’s Deli and Sweet Frog. The center is near the Newport News airport.
“Drucker & Falk is very excited about being part of this trendsetting, eco-friendly opportunity in Hampton Roads,” Wendy Drucker, managing director, said in a statement. “… It is truly the wave of the future in the multi-family industry.”
The apartments will offer a mix of studio, one-, two- and three -bedroom apartments ranging from 613 to 1313 square feet of space. Monthly rental rates will range from $1,013 -$1,950 a month.
Construction began in late 2011, and the first apartments are scheduled for delivery in the spring.
