Mixed-income apartment community opens in Arlington
- April 13, 2012
A new high-rise, mixed-income apartment community, vPoint, has officially opened in Arlington’s Clarendon neighborhood.
Located a half block from the Clarendon Metro station, vPoint was developed by Bozzuto Development Co. and Chesapeake Community Advisors in partnership with Arlington County, the Virginia Housing Development Authority, and The Views at Clarendon Corp.
The apartment community has been touted by its developers as a significant step in addressing Arlington’s affordable housing shortage.
It consists of eight stories of apartment homes atop the site’s original occupant, The Church at Clarendon. An adjacent, connected building housing the County’s largest child daycare center.
The development preserved the church’s steeple – a landmark in Clarendon – and created 120 underground parking spaces.
The apartment community includes 46 market-rate apartment homes and 70 affordable apartment homes, in a mix of studios, one, two and three-bedroom floor plans.
