Minority supplier development groups reorganize
- June 4, 2013
Minority supplier development groups in Virginia are consolidating as part of national reorganization.
Regional networks of the National Minority Supplier Development Council are designed to create partnerships between minority owned businesses and large corporations.
The territory of the former Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council, based in Richmond, will be divided between a new Carolinas-Central Virginia Council. Northern Virginia will become part of the Maryland/DC Capital Council.
On Monday, Tracey Jeter, formerly head of the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council, became president and CEO of the Maryland/DC Capital Council.
Eric Watson was recently appointed as president and CEO of the Carolinas-Central Virginia Council. In addition to Central Virginia, its territory includes all of Virginia except Northern Virginia. The group also serves North and South Carolina.
The changes are part of a reorganization of the entire National Minority Supplier Development Council network.
