Tony Jimenez, the president and CEO of Vienna-based MicroTech has been named “Small Business Person of the Year” by the Small Business Council of America (SBCA).
The award recognizes Jimenez for promoting a favorable environment for the small businesses.
“I am deeply grateful for this prestigious honor from the Small Business Council of America,“ Jimenez said in a statement. “Small business and entrepreneurship play a vital role in the U.S. economy by providing those who are striving to make a difference with an opportunity to own their own business.“
Hispanic Business magazine called Jimenez one of the “Most Influential Hispanics in America.“
He has been an advocate for the small businesses at numerous industry events, panel discussions and speaking appearance, Jimenez also has testified before Congress and was invited to the White House to offer advice on the small businesses.

Jimenez was honored at the SBCA 29th Congressional Awards held May 9 at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Other honorees recognized at the event included Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, Sen. Kay Hagan of North Carolina, and Reps. Steny Hoyer of Maryland and Tom Price of Georgia.

Jimenez’s company, MicroTech, provides technology services, systems integration, product solutions, unified communications and collaboration, cloud computing, cyber security and social media analytics to government and commercial enterprises. It is a prime contractor on more than 100 federal projects and more than 25 procurement vehicles.
