Melnor Inc., a manufacturer of lawn and garden watering products, plans to build a 128,000-square-foot building in Frederick County, creating 43 jobs.
The $6.5 million building will be located on an 11-acre site in the Stonewall Industrial Park.
Melnor has operated in Frederick for 15 years. It will continue to have its headquarters, distribution, and research and development operations in Frederick.
“For Melnor, the Winchester area is a great fit,“ Juergen Nies, president and CEO of Melnor, said in a statement. “We import 100 percent of our products, so Winchester’s East Coast location, with its proximity to a large distribution network, is perfect. Winchester also offers a pool of well-educated residents from which to attract a high-caliber work force.“
