Richmond-based MeadWestvaco has signed an agreement to sell its Special Papers business to Onyx Specialty Papers Inc.

The business, located in South Lee, Mass., produces laminate products for commercial and residential markets and transmissions for the automotive industry.

The sale is expected to be completed in early December.

The South Lee plants employs 122 people, who are expected to keep their jobs.
