A new poll says Virginia’s small business owners favor proposed clean energy climate legislation as a way to restart the economy and create jobs.
The poll, by Public Policy Polling, was done last week for the Small Business Majority and Main Street Alliance, a national network of state-based small business coalitions. It included 292 small business operators from the Old Dominion. They were among a total of 711 small business operators from three states: Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Fifty-four percent of the operators in Virginia support a bill expected to come before the U.S. Senate in about three weeks. Another 57 percent of the business owners said America should invest in clean energy.
