Lawrence Transportation to acquire trucking company

Botetourt County-based Lawrence Transportation Systems plans to buy the assets and trucking operations of Verona-based William Edwards Inc.
The deal is expected to add $10 million to Lawrence Transportation’s current annual revenue of more than $60 million.
William Edwards Inc. will continue its warehouse operations in Verona and dedicated fleet operations in Covington.
Lawrence Transportation has facilities in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. It was founded in 1932 and is employee owned.
