The Shenandoah Valley has a new major industrial tenant and employer. Hunter Defense Technologies Inc. (HDT Global) has signed an eight-year lease to occupy all of a 172,759-square-foot warehouse at the Shenandoah Valley Industrial Facility in Buena Vista.
The transaction, which represents a consolidation of HDT’s existing Virginia locations and a relocation of one of its California operations, is expected to bring 130 jobs. “The Shenandoah Valley Industrial Facility was one of the few sizeable, quality blocks of available space along the I-81 corridor. We are pleased to accommodate HDT Global’s growing Virginia operations,” Daniel M. DiLella Jr, vice president of BPG Properties Ltd. said in statement.
Philadelphia-based BPG owns and manages more than 900,000 square feet of triple-net, leased industrial space along Virginia’s I-81 corridor. As a result of the deal with HDT, a provider of mobility military and emergency response solutions based in Solon, Ohio, BPG’s industrial portfolio is 100 percent leased.
The 24-acre, Shenandoah Valley Industrial Facility, located at 3200 Green Forest Drive, also is within five miles from Interstate 64. The property’s location gives HDT a strategic location from which it can serve its customer base throughout the country. The company makes generators, heaters, air filtration devices, parachutes, aerial delivery systems and robotics used by U.S. and allied military units worldwide, as well as civilian government and commercial customers.
