GE plans to open an information security technology center in Henrico County, creating 200 new jobs.
GE’s Center for Excellence will hire workers in cyber security, network design, architecture, data management and application development.
“The information technologists working at this Center will help GE develop and deploy innovative technologies to make our businesses even more productive and secure,” Charlene Begley, president and CEO of GE Home & Business solutions and senior vice president and chief information officer for GE, said in a statement. “Virginia has a wealth of technical talent and strong educational facilities, which will be key in filling these IT security jobs.”
GE already is beginning to hire employees for the center, which will be located in Innsbrook. The center is expected to open in the third quarter, according to Deia Campanelli, global communications manager for GE. Employment information can be found at http://www.ge.com/infosec. Hiring will take place over the next few years.
