Foreclosure scheduled for Borders book store in Central Park development
August 08, 2011 11:02 AM

A 24,000-square-foot store that’s now home to a Borders bookstore in Fredericksburg’s Central Park appears to be headed for the auction block. Citing a legal notice that ran in the newspaper, the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star reported that an auction is planned for Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. in front of the Fredericksburg Circuit Court.  Borders, which has declared bankruptcy, is in the midst of a liquidation sale. The building at 1220 Carl D. Silver Parkway already has seen other retail closures over the past few years. The building’s lender is Wells Fargo Bank, according to the foreclosure notice that ran in the newspaper.  The building’s owner is the Fredericksburg Retail Limited Partnership.
