Five Virginia companies were among six prime contractors awarded Army contracts worth a total of $1.78 billion to develop next-generation night vision and senor systems.

The five Virginia companies are: Corbin Co. of Alexandria; EOIR Technologies Inc. of Fredericksburg; Fibertek Inc. of Herndon; DCS-Millennium LLC of Arlington; and Manufacturing Techniques Inc. of Kilmarnock.

The sixth winning company is BANC3 Inc. of Princeton, N.J.

The award will provide for the services in support of the Warrior Enabling Broad Sensor (WEBS).
