Five Indian technology companies will set up offices at an international business incubator at George Mason University.
The Indian-sponsored Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) chose five companies to work with GMU’s Mason Enterprise Center for Regional Analysis and Entrepreneurship.
Together, the companies are expected to create 60 jobs within three years.
The partnership was announced Thursday at the Virginia Conference on World Trade, which is focusing on India-Virginia trade relations.
“As one of Virginia’s strongest trade allies in the technology industry, India holds a key place in efforts to develop and strengthen our economy,” Gov. Timothy M. Kaine said in a statement. “Partnerships with trade organizations like ESC will create an important network of resources for our state’s more than 10,900 high-tech firms.”
India’s ESC creates business partnerships between Indian and foreign companies. The Indian companies headed to Virginia specialize in Web portal development, software services, infrastructure management and business applications development.
The International Business Accelerator provides foreign companies with advice on the strategy planning, capital formation and market research needed to enter the U.S. marketplace.
this is a good move towards india-virginia trade relationships, and hopefully should take a fruitfull outcome towards the later steges.
