ExxonMobil to move 2,000 Fairfax employees to Houston

ExxonMobil plans to move more than 2,100 Fairfax County employees to its expanded campus in Houston.

The company announced that it will transfer all of its Fairfax employees and others from Akron, Ohio, starting in 2014.

The affected companies in Fairfax include ExxonMobil’s Fairfax employees, includingExxon’s Refining and Supply Co., ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co., ExxonMobil Fuels, and the Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Co.

“Including additional employees on the new campus will provide even more opportunities for collaboration and innovation, supporiting ExxonMobil’s mission of delivering energy to meet growing global needs,” Bryan Milton, president of ExxonMobil Global Services Co., said in a statement.

The Houston campus is on a 385-acre wooded site and will accommodate about 10,000 employees.

Full occupancy is expected by 2015.
