Energy Services Group International acquires New Orleans firm
- December 3, 2012
Toano-based Energy Services Group International has acquired New Orleans-based BCP Technical Services, a privately-held provider of specialized staffing and work-force solutions for the U.S. energy industry.
The acquisition was completed on Friday.
Founded in 1983, ESG recruits and employs engineers and other highly skilled technical personnel for long-term assignments, primarily in the commercial nuclear power industry, but also in the fossil, solar and wind power generation sectors.
Founded in 1981, BCP competes in the same arena as ESG, but with a distinctly different client list and breadth of services. BCP also provides forensic accounting and in-core detector maintenance and replacement to the power industry.
ESG and BCP clients are predominantly major power companies, including Dominion Resources, Duke Energy, Florida Power & Light, Entergy, TVA, Exelon, Southern Co., FirstEnergy and PSE&G Nuclear. With the acquisition, ESG and its affiliates will employ more than 850 full time professionals.
BCP will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of ESG. BCP’s current management team, led by Ron Rowley, will continue to operate the business out of its Louisiana and Florida offices.
