Duke Realty leases 223,000-square feet of space in Washington, D.C.

Duke Realty Corp.’s Washington, D.C., office said it signed leases totaling more than 223,000 square feet of space during the second half of 2011. The activity came from new leases, expansions and renewals.
“We continued to have solid leasing activity in the second half of 2011 thanks to the concerted efforts of our leasing team and our solid reputation in the market,” Peter Scholz, senior vice president of Duke Realty’s D.C. office said in a statement.
Duke Realty’s D.C. team of Battista Orcino, vice president, leasing and development, and Matt Bremner, senior leasing representative, represented Duke Realty in all of the transactions.
In the industrial sector, Circle Solutions extended its 34,257-square-foot lease, expanding the total space it occupies by 16,322 square feet at 22815 Glenn Dr. in Sterling. Rockwell Collins also renewed its 30,000-square foot lease at 22635 Davis Drive at the TransDulles Centre in Sterling as part of an expansion that upped its occupancy to more than 143,000 square feet.
On the office side, Federal Management Partners renewed its lease for 11,452 square feet and expanded its occupied space by 1,419 square feet at Duke Realty’s Mark Center in Alexandria. At Liberty Center 1, a government contractor signed a new lease for 80,339 square feet.

Duke Realty currently owns, manages and has under development nearly 3.5 million square feet of industrial and office properties and serves more than 150 tenants in the D. C. region.
