Donohoe Cos. begins work on Marriott hotel in Ballston
October 24, 2011 9:26 AMWork has begun on a 150,000-square-foot, 11-story hotel Residence Inn by Marriott at Founders Square in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington. The Donohoe Cos Inc., based out of Washington, D.C., is developing the project, which will include 1,800 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The 183, all-suite tower will be the first extended-stay hotel in Ballston. It’s scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2013 and is being designed for LEED silver certification. The hotel will be managed by Donohoe Hospitality Services LLC of Washington, DC.
