Dominion Resources buys downtown office building for $5.5 million

Dominion Resources has purchased the Richmond Plaza office building, across the street from its headquarters at One James River Plaza, for $5.5 million.  Company spokesman Ryan Frazier said the company is in the process of determining future plans for the six-story building, which offers more than 269,000 square feet of space. Dominion employs 2,000 people in the downtown area. The seller was Douglas Development, based in Washington, D.C.,which reportedly acquired the building in 2007 for $11.8 million.  Steve Gentil of Grubb & Ellis | Harrison & Bates represented Dominion.
