Dimension Data acquires Manassas-based Xigo

Manassas-based Xigo, a telecommunications expense management (TEM) company, has been acquired by Dimension Data, a global IT company with operations in Herndon.

Dimension Data, a $5.8 billion company based in Johannesburg, South Africa, said it will focus on increasing Xigo’s U.S. market share and meeting the TEM needs of multinational organizations.  Over time, its TEM services will be rolled out to other countries.

Xigo’s relationship with Dimension Data goes back more than five years.  In 2010, two companies concluded a strategic global partnership agreement to offer the a localized global telecom expense management solution.

Dave Spofford, CEO of Xigo, will continue to lead the his team, reporting to Dimension Data’s Americas CEO, Jere Brown, on operations and Steve Joubert, the company’s group executive of global solutions, on strategy.

The transaction was effective as of Jan. 18. The financial terms were not disclosed.
