Defense contractor Fulcrum Concepts LLC will establish an operation in King and Queen County, creating 31 jobs over the next three years.
Fulcrum Concepts is a veteran-owned business that provides aviation and specialized weaponry training to military and civilian special operations personnel. Most of the company’s employees are retired from Army Special Operations.
Fulcrum will locate the company in the Middle Peninsula Regional Airport. The company chose King and Queen because of its proximity to the military concentration at Hampton Roads.
“The Middle Peninsula Regional Airport Authority, King and Queen County and the neighboring localities definitely contributed to Fulcrum Concepts’ decision to relocate to the airport due to the business-friendly environment.,” Michael S. Zinanni of Fulcrum said in a statement. “The airport has come under outstanding professional management, enhanced airport service and navigational aid improvement, and significant infrastructure improvements to include a runway and taxiway resurface able to accommodate a wide variety of aircraft.”
Gov. Bob McDonnell approved a grant of at least $100,000 from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to help King and Queen with the project.
