PAE has leased 71,122 square feet of office space at the MetLife building at 1320 N. Courthouse Road in Arlington in a deal that will consolidate employees in four separate offices. Dennis Tapiero, senior vice president, and Tom Birnbach, managing principal of Cresa in Washington D.C., represented the defense contractor, which used to be a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin.
PAE wanted a new headquarters site to leverage its independent brand and provide a centralized space for about 260 local employees, who are currently spread throughout four locations in the greater D.C. region. According to Cresa, the move also reflects a growing trend in commercial real estate demands for government contractors, as companies seek to foster a more collaborative team culture and maximize their use of open work space.
The increased focus on shared space makes it easier for companies to accommodate growth, by making more efficient use of available space and providing areas for employees to interact in a team environment.
“This is an exciting time for PAE, and we’re eager to create a space that truly reflects our collaborative and mission-focused company culture,“ PAE CEO Mike Dignam, said in a statement.
