December 22, 2011 11:54 AM

Faneuil Inc. plans to establish a customer call center for Dominion Virginia Power in Halifax County, creating 150 jobs.

“The center in Halifax County accomplishes the twin goals of providing good jobs here and enhancing the level of service for our customers,” Paul D. Koonce, Dominion Virginia Power’s CEO, said in a statement.  “New employees in Halifax County will be well equipped to handle customer calls because of their strong work ethic and their common sense in dealing with people.  These are qualities that will make this additional customer care center successful.”

The call center will be located in the Riverstone Technology Park.

Faneuil is based in Hampton and provides customer contact services for businesses.

The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $800,000 for the project. The company is eligible to receive a “Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit” and benefits through the Virginia Enterprise Program.
