CSC to continue to support military’s prescription data
- October 13, 2010
Falls Church-based CSC has won a contract worth up to $95 million to continue its support of a prescription-data service for the U.S. military.
Under the agreement, CSC will continue to operate the Pharmacy Data Transaction Service, which CSC developed and has continued to maintain. CSC works with Emedon Pharmacy Services to provide the service.
The system reviews all new and refill prescriptions to ensure property safety and usage. It will send an alert if there are any potential problems from interactions, drug alerts or drug dosage levels. The safety check occurs before patients receive prescriptions.
The contract has a six-month base period with four options periods over 51 months.
