Corvesta Inc. expands, forms two specialty companies

Corvesta Inc., the parent company of Delta Dental of Virginia, is expanding in the Roanoke area. It announced Wednesday that it has formed two specialty companies, Corvesta Services and Mercury Data Exchange (MDE). The two companies were formed to develop and market technologies and customer service expertise for the dental health marketplace and other specialty health areas, such as vision. Corvesta Services will concentrate on dental benefits administration and health informatics while MDE will provide Electronic Data Interchange solutions for claims transactions. Delta Dental provides dental health benefits for more than 1.7 million people in Virginia.

“The expansion of the Corvesta family of companies is exciting not only for us, but for the Roanoke Valley,” George A. Levicki, president and CEO of Corvesta, said in a statement. “As these companies earn new customers, we anticipate increased job growth and professional opportunities.”

Currently, Corvesta employees 315 employees, with 36 new jobs expected to be added in 2012. 

To improve operational efficiencies, about 175 personnel from the new companies will be consolidated from leased spaced to the a recently purchased Verizon building at 5415 Airport Rd. in Roanoke County. This move is expected to take place by early 2013.

Delta Dental of Virginia’s corporate headquarters will remain at the current Starkey Road location in Roanoke County.
