An international construction company won a $21 million judgment against the Virginia Department of Transportation over a breach of contract during the construction of the U.S. 58 Clarksville Bypass in Mecklenburg County. AMEC Civil LLC, a subsidiary of British firm AMEC PLC, says VDOT owes it money for contract delays, losses of productivity and the impact of high water.
