July 25, 2012 12:17 PM

Virginia Commonwealth Commercial Partners Inc., based in Richmond, has been awarded the property management of five Class A office buildings in Nashville, Tenn.

The properties, all located near Nashville International Airport, were purchased last week by another Richmond-based company, the Lingerfelt Cos.  Lingerfelt acquired them from Highwoods Properties, Inc. a public real estate investment trust located in Raleigh.

“The addition of these properties to our portfolio is a great opportunity to further expand our footprint beyond Central Virginia,” Mark Claud, president of Commonwealth Commercial Partners, said in a statement.

The acquisition adds 483,988 square feet to the 13 million square feet the firm currently manages in Virginia.
