Commercial printing company to add 55 jobs in Grayson
October 26, 2009 1:32 PM

A lithographic commercial printing company is expanding in Grayson County, creating 55 jobs.

Carolina Profile Design Corp. is spending $3 million to add a metal machining process to its Grayson operations, allowing the company to manufacture high-end metal parts for machinery and after-market products.

“We at Carolina Profiles appreciate the natural beauty, the lifestyle and the friendly attitude of Grayson County and Western Virginia,” Helmar Nielsen, president of Carolina Profile, said in a statement. “The state and county government have been very helpful, particularly with employee training, which is a major requirement of our machining operation.”

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to help Grayson with the project, and the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization approved spending $150,000 from the Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training help.
