Historic Bowling Green Farm in Caroline County found a buyer during an auction Tuesday. According to Concierge Auctions, a New York-based luxury real estate auction firm that ran the auction, the property went under contract after bidding from six prospects.
Concierge did not disclose the name of the buyer or the bid price. It said a five-week marketing campaign generated more than 3,000 visits to the auction website from 33 countries and 104 buyer prospects. The sale was conducted in cooperation with broker Frank Hardy of Frank Hardy Inc. Realtors in Charlottesville.
One of the oldest original homes in Virginia, Bowling Green Farm, circa 1741, is a Virginia Historic Landmark and was restored with consultation from the Colonial Williamsburg Architectural Research Department. It includes 126 acres, and is located 20 minutes from Fredericksburg, 30 minutes from Richmond and one hour from Washington, D.C.
