Bankers Insurance acquires Gateway Insurance Services
August 02, 2011 10:26 AMBankers Insurance LLC said Tuesday it had acquired Gateway Insurance Services from Hampton Roads Bankshares.
Bankers Insurance, an insurance broker based in Richmond, paid for the acquisition with cash and by offering a membership unit to Hampton Roads Bankshares. Gateway Insurance Services has five offices in eastern North Carolina and one office in eastern Virginia.
“We are excited to be expanding into the eastern North Carolina area and look forward to partnering with the Bank of Hampton Roads,” Marshall Fleming, president and CEO of Bankers Insurance LLC, said in a statement.
