Several office building deals in Arlington made the Washington Business Journal’s list of Top 10 deals for 2011 in office building sales and leases. Coming in at No. 1 on the Journal’s list of Top 10 Building Sales in the Washington, D.C. region, based on total sales price, was the Lehman/Goldman Sachs Rosslyn portfolio sale. The company paid $1.2 billion for 10 offices with about 3 million square feet in the Rosslyn submarket.
For Top 10 office leases, based on total square footage, a 329,000-square-foot deal for Monument View at 601 S. Clark St. came in at No. 7, while Plaza East, with 243,000-square foot leased at 1800 N. Kent St., came in at No. 10. The No. 1 deal was for 1 million square feet leased by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration at the Silver Spring Metro Center in Silver Spring, Md.
