Stan Sloane, the former CEO of SRA International, plans to relocate the new company he heads in California to Northern Virginia, the Washington Business Journal reported Monday. Sloane, who left Fairfax-based SRA in July after its acquisition by Providence Equity, told the Journal that he will move Decision Sciences from Poway, Calif. The company, which has about 15 employees, will soon begin marketing a system that scans cargo for nuclear materials. Sloane wants the corporate headquarters to be somewhere in Northern Virginia, where he expects the system would be of interest to federal agencies and contractors. Primary buyers are expected to come from commercial transportation, including airports and seaports. Sloane said he is working with Gov. Bob McDonnell’s office, and hopes to announce an office location in a couple of weeks for what would be a small startup with 4 to 5 people.
