Green builder Shenandoah Sustainable Technologies LLC plans to invest $600,000 throughout Virginia over the next three years, creating 72 new jobs.

The company specializes in sustainable construction and retrofitting of existing buildings for residential, commercial and faith-based customers.

“The future is very exciting for us,” SST president and director Zach Fettig said in a statement. “We’ll use our sustainable technologies, imagination and drive to overcome our economic and environmental problems.  Through each project, SST is proving that these new technologies are real, substantial and sustainable.”

The Virginia Department of Business Assistance worked with James Madison University, Rockingham County, Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley Partnership on the project.

“An expansion like this, especially in these economic times, tells me that Virginia’s business climate positions us well to come out of this recession strong,” said Gov. Timothy M. Kaine in a statement. “By developing and nurturing a green energy industry here, we will not only address our growing energy needs in a more responsible way, but we will also help stimulate Virginia’s economy.”
